A friend brought me some yummy holiday cranberry salsa after she had told us over lunch how amazing it was. Now that I’ve tried it, I agree!
Quickly made in the blender, this salsa will become a regular recipe for your family during the winter holiday season. You can assemble it in five minutes. Keep the ingredients handy in case unexpected guests stop by!
In searching for cranberry salsa recipes, I found many! They are all similar to each other, yet slightly different. I settled on the ingredients I thought sounded good for my taste and whipped up a batch. I really like this recipe and that it may be adjusted to fit anyone’s taste. You can use more or less of every ingredient, except the cranberries. This recipe makes a pretty big batch, so you might want to half it if only one or two people will be eating it.
We first tried the salsa with lime chips, which I liked. But, if you know you are going to eat it with lime chips, I suggest cutting back on the lime juice in the recipe a bit. The two together can be a bit overwhelming. This salsa would also make a nice tart and sweet salad topper, along with some walnuts or other nuts.

- Chop the onion, seed and chop the jalapeno, and chop the cilantro.
- In a colander, rinse the cranberries, removing any soft or solid white ones.
- Place the cranberries and the chopped onion, jalapeno and cilantro into a blender or food processor.
- Blend to the consistency or chunkiness that you desire.
- In a small bowl, mix the lime juice and sugar in a medium mixing bowl until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the ingredients of the blender to the lime sugar mixing bowl. The salsa is best served cold, but can be served immediately.
